About

Patrick Puckett (b. 1979, Jackson, Mississippi) creates large-scale figurative oil paintings distinguished by bold color, patterned surfaces, and carefully constructed compositions. Drawing on his experience of life in the American South, he invents scenes in which everyday settings take on an atmosphere of quiet mystery.

Puckett earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2002, studying under James Meade. He moved to Austin, Texas, in 2005 and returned to Jackson in 2022, where he lives and maintains his studio.
